The hotel is the biggest and best on the island now that the rooms have been newly renovated. It was clean with a fabulous view of the ocean, the bay and Hilo. The staff was helpful and the cost per night was very low compared to the Hilo Hawaiin next door which has not been newly renovated.

Room was nice. View was great - the hotel grounds on the ocean side very clean, Coconut Island, Hilo Bay, Hamakua coastline, the mountain. Front desk clerks were very nice!

Did not care for having to close DOORS on the balcony side of the room....kind of hard to deal with. Perhaps if you added drapes so you could just close the drapes if you wanted privacy, that would be great!
